"I know a man who wears a $600 pair of shoes and carries two guns with him at all times; one for starting trouble, and one for ending trouble." - Vic the Most
Damn, so far Salinas has been running the game in terms of content from the 831. Makes me want to get off my butt and do something. I wonder what kind of stories John Steinbeck would be writing if he was alive in Salinas now...
Jordan and the boys making things look good at one of the shittiest parks in the world! No jk, you can fuck with Salinas and have fun. Props to Mario for always being gnarly on a bike!
Short vid by Pat Kelly, featuring riders from San Jose, including the elusive Beerman. If you don't have 1:17 to watch this, then you are a fucking liar.
Also, a jam at the Asylum 2.0 is going down on Saturday for the premiere of the Fourohate DVD, Brokless 3. I missed last weekend's premiere, I will be missing this weekend premiere; fuck man, will I ever get to see this vid?
Just a quick reminder that the annual "You Better Show Up Jam" is going down on Saturday at Crazy Chris' new warehouse, The Asylum. That's right, it will not be at the concrete park in Salinas, so make sure you look at the address on the flyer. This will be a good time, and I expect everybody to show up. Even the traveling Country Clubbin' Correspondents like Kelly Costello and Nathan Parker.
Can't forget our brothers down south, especially when they've got so many wonderful things to look at! Below is Jordache with a picture perfect barspin, and a couple videos Jay made. Next time I go to CVS, I'll make sure to check aisle 6 for hop whips.
Big ups to Crazy Chris and the Salinas gang holding a jam and premiere for Yawn BMX. The video is sick, I suggest you get your hands on a copy. Seeing the big man do some stunts on the Cult site got me stoked, thought it would be best to share it with the world. And those long haired guys shred pretty good too.
Feeling cold? Hutch is out there bringing the heat, especially towards the end of this one. Conquered that set up!
It's Always Sunny in San Diego, by DirDirt DeVito. Shady Jake would frequent Paddy's Pub.
Slangin' bricks in Salinas... bricks of beeswax that is. Congrats to Crazy Chris pulling the team manager reigns, keeping things slick and buttery in the 831!
Inspired by Jackson's 1000th Post Party, I thought it would be fitting to put hella posts up since this blog hasn't been updated in a while. So starting off, we have the Salinas jam, which was premiered on Saturday.
Driving up to UCSC usually requires a right hand turn at Mission and Bay, the location of a hot new burger joint called Burger. (with a period). The prospect of eating a burger from Burger. was going through my mind the whole session, but when Budman said he'd buy me dinner for going Rider's Ready down these stairs, the choice of eating concrete, dirt, and/or deer shit was soon replaced by tender organic grass-fed Humboldt county beef with bacon, avo, and jack cheese.
... or get whooped. Last years You Better Show Up Jam was rad ass fuck, so you know this year it's gonna be even better. I'm waiting on another flier for the Santa Cruz Halloween contest, but keep that one in mind too. Crazy Chris puts it all in for these jams, and the results are always fun and outrageous. So reserve September 18th for some Salas shredding. Here's Mike's video from last year, just in case you were a punk and decided to not show up:
Here's a compilation of some of the riding that went down in Salinas for the first 4Loko tour stop. Yes, the watermarks are annoying, but I had to spend a crap load of time converting .mpg to .mov files and cropping the watermark out basically made the clip look like scrambled porn. So I apologize if you feel you pulled some stuff and it didn't make the cut, particularly George's rail ride to barspin. Nevertheless, we rode some rad spots and had a good crew of people to shred with. Thanks to Crazy Chris for making it happen, and thanks to everyone else who showed up. Hopefully there's enough SC footage to get edits for every stop. Or I hope Tomy coughs up his cell phone videos, because I'm pretty sure I saw him recording the pepperoni bandit in action.
I know it seems fairly bizarre to have something like 3 updates in one week, since usually it's about a third of that every two months on this lame ass blog. But sometimes it goes down. I saw these two videos on Mario's vimeo page, straight outta Salas, so you know there's some gangsta ass riding going down. Also some pre-Jordan wrist injury footie as well, which is always rad. Enjoy! Also, to encourage viewer participation (and hopefully get more viewers that me and Luke), let's play a game. The first video is by Mario, and the second is by George. Vote in the comments whichever one you like better. Whoever gets the most votes will get a a 4Lokos of their choice at the Salinas Jam on July 3rd. Anonymous votes will not be counted. Sound good? Bet these fools didn't expect this from their video making class. Yee!
Get whooped. I'm so stoked on the Crazy Chris edit, definitely one of the most entertaining people to ride with period. Nothing but love for this homeboy.
And from our brothers down under, bringing the realness to your Tuesday afternoon. My only question is what happened to DWT part 7? Let's get a SD trip before February.
